Hi everyone!

I thought I should introduce myself since I am one of the mods for discuss.systems (and married to @dan who runs it). I work on operating systems and datacenter systems at Microsoft Research.

I'm very interested in leveraging my privilege to enact systematic change and make academic spaces safer for everyone, especially using Codes of Conduct enforcement to prevent harassment and bullying.

Oh no I don't know how to use tags so I'll just do this #introduction again: I am @irene and I am one of the mods for discuss.systems (as well as married to @dan who runs it). I am a principal researcher at Microsoft Research where I work on operating systems and datacenter systems. I am also very passionate about using my privilege to enact systematic change and make academic spaces safer for everyone, especially using codes of conduct enforcement to prevent harassment and bullying.

@irene @dan anti bullying is good by me. We live in an unprecedented age of intrusive online behaviours.

@lavenderlens @dan Yes, academic settings are especially prone to bullies because there is such an imbalance of power between younger and older academics.
