@ZachWeinersmith if social media platforms are no longer innocent of things published on their platforms (as in if those laws get dropped), that would encourage them to shut down and in their place, smaller things like individual/family Mastodon instances might become more and more common. And if all of that were to occur, users would basically demand interoperability, I think.
