There's nothing stopping you from not noticing the pedestrian with right-of-way and getting away with out penalty.

But what good is being legally innocent if you killed someone?

@levisan meanwhile, an effective measure against these conflicts is street design you see in some European cities where cars can't go too fast to stop suddenly.

@progo Making it harder to be unsafe (for both driver and pedestrian) seems to be a common and effective tactic in Europe. I wish we'd do it more on this side of the Atlantic!
