I get marketing material from four different "mainstream" photography outlets. This is fine.
But I'm not into generic photography; I'm into the niche that is film photography.
I have zero (0) desire to buy a DSLR or a mirrorless camera or a GoPro. On the other end, I also don't want an instant camera or other products sometimes called "hipster". I just want info on 120 and 135 film, development supplies, printing services, and used cameras.
Those four stores I get emails from all sell those things.
But none of them have any specific marketing channels to promote them, nor do they do things like sales or discounts.
I'm sure is a small portion of their profits… it doesn't make much business sense on paper to put effort into it. But surely they want to support artists and their arts? A little encouragement and community building might increase their profits after all!
