@lucifargundam usually the way mining jobs work - at least for people that operate heavy equipment and such - is that they'll fly you up to some shithole town in the middle of the desert, where work 6 days a week for 6 months, then they fly you home and you don't work for 6 months
(intervals other than 6 months also occur probably more often)
