Alright, fuck it. I'm going to reconfigure this box I've got sitting around collecting dust and migrate all of my shit I have on my dedicated server at Hetzner to it. Fuck this is going to take some time.

I really like microblogging. And I really like community. The quirky personalities, the dev chat, security chats, your cats. All of that good stuff.

I really like my peertube server. I love it all. Just not ready to let it slip off into the digital void. Not yet at least. I've got a few days and there will probably be a few days of downtime. While I migrate everything...but I'll get there.

Yeah, so fuck I'm going to have to fire up my pfsense box again. Since I'll be using this shit internally I'll need a way to create internal DNS shit so I can route locally instead of getting into a weird double nat shitshow.

I've got a 1u supermicro box in my network rack that did the job when I self hosted some shit. I'll fire it up again. I think I'll give opnsense a run this time.

*frantically digging for usb drives to write isos to*

Man, it's been awhile since I've had to do anything with this supermicro box. Gotta hook up a monitor to it and it's only got a VGA in...I don't even know if I've kept any of those...time to go visit the garbage bag FULL of cables 😬

what if there was a business out there that kept hold of your cables for you for a low annual fee of like $5 and would overnight them back to you? Or you could rent/buy cables from other members through this warehouse company?
