Mastodon is closer to true freedom of speech than other social media, because you can bitch about something a friend or family member did without them seeing it.

@lucifargundam I love how laid back it is here. Just people doing their OWN thing. And still plenty of news and information to learn from.

It's really a trust and societal agreement system. There are those who want to do-away with the federation, though.
