"Computer Science was always supposed to be taught to everyone, and it wasn’t about getting a job"
@pirboazo @lupyuen this "wasn't always" is an absolutely top tier near-perfect blog post. this speaks incredibly deeply to me.
i believe very much in the good of computing. almost no where are we more free, are we given so much, able to shape so freely. it's an enchanting land, one i hope can keep a valid connection to reality, where spiraling other folk off into your own is a visible & rude tug (rather than just how software works).
Thank you @lupyuen
Very interesting article.👍👍👍 Good prediction of C.P. Snow
He wrote, “A handful of people, having no relation to the will of society, having no communication with the rest of society, will be making decisions in secret which are going to affect our lives in the deepest sense.”
He argued that everyone needed to learn about computer science, in order to have democratic control of these processes.
