I hate every word processing program I have, and I have many.
Does anybody have one you like?

@heidilifeldman This would be easier to answer helpfully if we knew what you find frustrating about them :blobfoxthink:
In case it's dealing with inconsistent formatting:

If you don't mind LaTeX, Lyx should still be pretty good.
If you don't mind Markdown, Obsidian is great but not as flexible.

Either shows you the formatted document as you edit and should have PDF export.

(That said, I'm pretty bad at using word processors and program anything fancy in HTML at this point.)

@Qazm @heidilifeldman I love obsidian but don’t tend to use it for straight word processing. Maybe I will try it. I don’t mind Markdown. I want something not too bloated, that can open Word documents and can be used by those who use Word. I don’t want to pay Microsoft for word processing. I need to be able to generate rich text documents. I like a WYSIWYG format, at least for paragraphs.
In a perfect world, the same tool for Mac and iOS.

@heidilifeldman @Qazm said this way, LibreOffice Write appears to check all your boxes. Maybe you were not aware of the iOS version, called Collabora
