Welp, this is the most fucked up and concerning story I've seen about a news service in a long while.
Who the heck thought having an AI curate a news service was a good idea?
Just to be clear: the AI isn't writing these stories, but it is choosing them from what is out there and putting them on the front page of the MSN web portal

@mathlover I'd argue having an AI curate a news service is exactly the kind of place where it *can* be made to work, because you can get strong enough signals that even something as trivial as a well trained Bayesian network can do reasonably well.
The big caveat being that you need to understand the limits of it and take precautions... *Including* still having *some* human oversight refining the training set, and whitelisting/blacklisting sources.
Clearly MSN failed horribly at that.
