@guitardis On the one hand, this particular pastor is fortunately a made up entity for the sake of a religious joke. At least, I think that pastor doesn't exist. I could be wrong.
As for the right wing obsession, it's what happens when church gossip is not only taken seriously by social media but reaches the ears of sympathetic or opportunistic politicians. Same with the satanic panic, D&D, Pokemon...

@mathlover @godpod after reading about the lady who (thought she) dressed up as a cat, it’s sadly believable. So is the fact that they still believe the whole litterbox thing. I guess it’s easier to fight things that don’t exist. If they were fighting poverty or hunger, they might actually have to do something.
