...coloring is calming and liked by many, but some students/adults do not like the feel or smell of crayons. When you see a child/student avoiding coloring tasks this aversion to the feel and/or smell of crayons may be the reason. It may be helpful to ask (if verbal/sign language/symbol )as many children may not even know, understand, or be able to articulate this aversion.

Yes, excellent point. An crayons can be a little unsanitary in these times. Fortunately, the majority (maybe all but one) of resources in the article are digital. 😃
