Esd bag. Around a QFP tray piece wrapped in saran wrap.

Why did you bother, random AliExpress seller?

Idgaf this time I got these chips to decap. But next time I might want to actually put them on a board.

The other chips on the same order were taped to a piece of cardboard then put in a non-esd ziploc. Lovely.

I probably didn't need this much magnification for a package shot (I used to just use my phone, lol) but when you have a CNC microscope it's easy to just collect more data in case you might want to look at it later.

Here's the CH579M.

Top view is Mitutoyo plan apo 5x/0.14, bottom is Mitutoyo plan apo 10x/0.28. Same lighting setup as the CH32V208.

Sure enough, I saw something I would totally have missed at lower magnification. Check out the probe scrub marks! It looks like the factory test socket had little tiny two-pronged pogo pins on it.

@miermont Unlikely, probably just Y-shaped pogo tips to get a more firm contact.
