Been eyeballing these #mushroom logs up at Snow Goose farms for, probably, over a year.
Today, on our weekend day trippin', we swung by to pick up some greens & stuff. In a moment of vulnerability, my partner opened the door, I gave in, and finally picked up a Blue Oyster log.
Here's to hoping I can stuff this into a dark, damp place & make #food happen.🤞
@kevinbowen it could be they prefer the side with more light, idk.
@kevinbowen mushroom cultivation gets technical really fast. For what it's worth, I own "The Mushroom Cultivator" by Stamets and Chilton which has good info on what to expect. If you ever want to get deeper into this, I'd recommend what I didn't do which is to take a hands-on class with mushroom growers rather than rely only on theory or online forums.
Thanks! I appreciate the recommendation.
I've got a copy of it in my local archive. I'll take a look at it after I read the first 50 or so pages of Mushrooms Demystified this weekend.
@mjambon
I don't think it's that. They are currently on a middle shelf in a dark closet. Only speculating, but perhaps how the logs were inoculated?
Dunno. I'm probably just being impatient & fussy with my new shiny object. 😄
I'll be sitting down to do some mushroom reading this weekend. The company's website was scant on details, beyond what is already printed on the log's label.
