A big issue, which may go to what PEW is finding, is the student loan issue. These days I think it really is scaring some folks from going to college not wanting to be stuck in debt for years. Add to it the student loan system is pretty much a mess, to put it charitably, and yea, I can see people questioning if college is worth it or not.
But that is just one thing.
