The most important soft skill a software engineer/developer needs is to have a Problem-Solving attitude.

Otherwise, most of the soft skills I see in the LinkedIn posts are applicable across other domains, are mostly team sports, and depend upon many variables.

But they must be able to overcome complex problems and that consistent in all domains. Significant technical tasks and issues are intimidating and keep testing our motivation. Breaking them down into small, manageable tasks, which are more straightforward to tackle, could be a long process to become perfect, but when we finish one, it boosts our motivation for the next set of work.

This single ability alone can help an efficient engineer navigate more challenging work periods; believe me, there will be many.
