has anyone written a guide to x86 assembly that's really simple but that still lets you get a sense for how machine code works on modern computers?

Like maybe only using instructions that existed in the 80s but still showing things like syscalls and calling conventions

There are some reverse engineering books but they are not written to teach assembly
