i know that British priests felt threatened by Life of Brian, but i don't think they should've been so worried. i think it's a funny movie that does not tarnish the legacy of Jesus. i think you can laugh at that movie without having your whole belief system falling down. i'm not a Christian, but i think if God is truth, one can take a statement that contradicts it, and may even be amused at it. if one can't take that, how strong is your god, really?

i think maybe my main disagreement with the Christian line of thought is that God is the source of goodness. that without God, one cannot be ethical, since he defines what is good.

a good bit of what humans consider "being good to one another" exists in several places that Christianity never reached.

one can have compassion without Jesus.

no one can disprove that one might only find salvation with the Christian God, however.

i guess i'm a bit of a Doubting Thomas. but Jesus accepted that. so if you wish to stay true to the word of Jesus, talking to a doubter is not a sin.

even if i don't prescribe to the Gospel, for his era, i don't consider his message half bad.
