Learned last night my 82-year old dad has migrated his Ubuntu 18.04 LTS install to 20.04 LTS on his own.

Sure, it's just a button to click, but still. I haven't even managed to migrate yet, and I'm supposed to be the helpful techie son. 😁

He just wasn't sure about Gramps (genealogy app) because it gave a message about converting the database format.

@normandc unfortunately I was a little bit too young when my grandparents were introduced to computers. It's too late to get them off the windows-train now.

@normandc my granma did that too recently, it forgot the default audio output device though, so I had to help her out a little. Overall it was an improvement, since the audio situation was a little finicky on that machine from the start.

@garritfra I snuck xubuntu in when replacing here old computer, she doesn't even what an OS is, she just think that's what new computers are like ;-)
