@BigDogBo Yeah, Tusky works fine, no complaints at all actually.
No iPhone for me! I'm an open source guy. If it wasn't for a few games, this desktop sure the F wouldn't be on Windows ha
@BigDogBo Federated timeline is a lot to take in. So many messages coming thru. Luckily qoto supports adding columns from other instances's timelines. I don't know of any others that do. But there are so many ways to go about this. I like having a few instances so I don't miss some of my interests. That's why I like having mastodon.radio, and mastodon.social is good to have for a more main stream time line.
@obi I agree with you about Federated timeline. I mainly just click on it and see what pops up immediately. Are you a member of more than one instance, or just follow those others?
@BigDogBo I think I first in April 2017 on hostux.social, then joined cybre.space, toot.cafe, koyu.space, fosstodon.org, mastodon.social, mastodon.com, and a few others. Mainly use this account and newly mastodon.radio now. When you join, you see more from the instance. I think if you just follow someone from another instance, you can see what they post, and what their contacts post, but not the entire timeline of that instance, unless you use qoto's feature of following a specific instances timeline. I don't know of any other instance that can do it.
@BigDogBo U thinking of joining some others?
@obi I am! I really like the instance I belong to currently, just looking to see if there are others that I might like as much or other interests (scifi, etc).
@BigDogBo I still think following hastags for interests and following people from those is probably the best for the average person.
@BigDogBo You could also join another instance of interest. Follow a bunch of cool people over a few weeks, then export that back to your main interest. I've done that.
@BigDogBo Also, I really love Sengi for desktop. They don't support qoto's fork of mastodon, so I use it for my other fav instances. Great for multi-account.
@BigDogBo @HikerFromVA that’s what I use
@obi I don’t use desktop/laptop version much yet. Use safari version for columns or #MetatextApp on my iPhone. For some reason I thought you were iPhone as well. I’ve heard good things about Tusky.
