I went on a ride along the Woburn Parkway this morning, expecting (like all Parkways around Boston) it to be a DCR-managed highway through a park.

Apparently Woburn Parkway (along Horn Pond) is municipally managed, because it managed to be a pleasant, wide, paved path for peds/bikes, through a lovely parkland and reservoir area, with nary a car in sight.

I was so caught off guard I didn't even know how to act; I was genuinely shocked at a parkway focusing on "park" rather than cars.

@crschmidt Kind of ironic how the DCR is a bigger obstacle than the DOT in MA
