Honestly, they were kind of so before with the Avia hate speech law (ruled unconstitutional) and by pushing for the E.U. Terror Regulation which mandates filters for "terroristic content" on large platforms.
They were warned by civil rights groups that actual terroristic content is very rare, and that it is more likely to hit legitimate users (such as journalists) in the majority of instances.
I remember there was a lawsuit against the Terror Regulation. I hope that regulation falls.
Noting that large platforms were probably already hunting for terroristic content, however, the State getting in on the game pushes the scales further towards false positives.
The Avia law gave the State a lot of power (which came with problems I won't go into here, although over removal of legitimate content would likely be one, as well as the principle of proportionately).
