In two days I'm going to dual boot my Windows box with Ubuntu.

I use the Windows machine *only* for gaming, so I don't think I have any data on there that I care about.

What am I going to regret not backing up?

@peterdrake

It's the right order. If you install Windows after Ubuntu it would be much harder -- Windows doesn't see Linux filesystems and wipes out the bootloader.

Ubuntu will see Windows and likely it will offer to put it into the boot menu.

Good luck!

@swordplay That's reassuring!

My machine happens to have two hard drives, so at least I get to avoid partitioning.

@peterdrake

Linux installs have generally gotten really good. Do it a couple of times and it's merely a task.

If you know about partitioning, you should be okay.

Aloha!

@peterdrake I forgot to back up my web browser favorites ; nowadays with firefox accounts it should be less of a pain. Godspeed !
