I'm continuing to play Horizon Zero Dawn. The writing and voice acting are a bit bland compared with Baldur's Gate 3, but the controls and animations are silky smooth, including riding a mount through complicated terrain.

I think this was accomplished through some subtle decisions such as having a world almost devoid of doors; when you do go through a door, it happens in a cutscene.

The heroine's rappelling technique is absurdly over the top: jump off the cliff, spin around in the air, *then* throw the grappling hook at the place whence you just jumped.

It's definitely a "learn to become a badass" game, through player skill as well as in-game character improvements and gear.
