#askfediverse I'm looking for a device that can be used to test whether #USB cables are delivering power. Ideally it would be a tiny box with USB A, micro USB B, and USB C inputs -- and an LED that lights up when voltage is received. Does this exist?
The use case is: USB cables fail all the time and looking for a good one can become maddening.
(I'm not looking for tips on using my multimeter for this, thank you!)
@pbx I've got a similar thing that's just a USB-A-to-USB-A adapter that tells you the current passing through it, but I stopped using it because I think it interferes with quick charge.
Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Diymore-Charging-Detector-Voltmeter-Multimeter/dp/B01L6Y3IMK
Is that the kind of thing you mean?
@pbx This one looks fancier and more like what you want maybe?
