I don't think his intention has ever been to make money.
His intention is to destroy it because it was a platform where he was criticized.

What if you're right, & that is his plan, & he can't pull it off because he's not capable of executing it?
(My personal view is that it's even stupider than either 'I can fix Twitter' or 'I want to use twitter to train an LLM that will make me >$44B.' My view is that he literally hasn't thought about anything deeply enough to decide what he's trying to do.)

@FeralRobots @pieist @Hawkmoon @Green_Footballs I just can’t rule out the ‘corporate raider’ perspective yet (harvest/sell assets of company and then declare bankruptcy for further tax write-offs iirc). I also don’t rule out lack of sleep, inflated ego, some drugs and/or spite (misery loves company) as reasonable explanations for what appears to be a series of very poor decision-making with $$ and the bird site.

When Twitter was useful one of its primary purposes for me was connecting with news regarding the underprivileged from around the world, in a way that often allowed me to inquire and learn from people experiencing in a way I couldn’t elsewhere.
The people he borrowed money from are the same people who could be impacted by that.
@pieist @Hawkmoon @Green_Footballs what if Elon got money from oil-rich countries and other state actors so he is already made money. He can also sell private DMs and posts to countries that really want that information for extra money. And, he plans to use the Twitter data to build a ChatGPT clone to make more profit (which means he needs to block others from his private data well).
