Italy has banned ChatGPT for violating the GDPR because OpenAI lacks a legal basis justifying “the mass collection and storage of personal data … to ‘train’ the algorithms” of ChatGPT.

This is such a weird ruling because one could argue what’s the legal basis of collecting large amounts of personal data to provide search results on Google or Bing?

@carnage4life I don't know, but under GDPR they have to justify it, treat it with due respect and let you opt out.
