Using AI to aid you in making decisions doesn't look bad to me.
Blindly following the output of AI is stupid.

Regarding reading for example: there is a huge amount of books you could read and identifying the ones which might interest you is extremely complex.
Using AI to provide some advices basex on books you liked is not a bad idea.
You would have to look at the recommendations and choose the ones that actually interest you.
Reading all the recommended books without evaluating wether they're interesting is stupid, but also difficult to do.
