I would believe it very likely that mixing nitric acid and isopropyl alcohol might cause something similar to an explosion.

I have no precise knowledge over this matter, these are just my suppositions and someone more informed than me might correct me.
Introducing nitric acid into isopropyl alcohol will generate solvation heat, thus the solution will heat up.
If you have a large volume of solution this may reach the flash point of isopropyl alcohol and start a fire.
Even if this is not the case, nitric acid is a strong oxidiser and it will oxidise isopropyl alcohol; generating heat and a bunch of nitrogen dioxide.
If you let this happen in an enclosed vessel this will surely result in an explosion.
