People will keep consuming alcoholics despite your negative opinion.

I'll rectify: people will keep consuming alcoholics in public places despite your negative opinion.
I hope you won't meet a lot of people that share your idea and successfully restrict alcohol consumption, or at least that you don't do it in any country I'll live in.
I already lived in Gujarat, where alcohol is banned and I'm now in Spain where alcohol consumption is prohibited in the streets (luckily this is not enforced strictly).
I think the restriction to drinking in the streets is quite awful, you're then forced to drink in bars, which I dislike: much better to drink a beer with friends on a bench in a park rather than in a room filled of random people bumping each other if you ask me.

I like drinking wine, it makes my meals better.
I like drinking a beer with friends because I do enjoy the taste and it creates a nice social environment.
If you don't like that, it is fine; but I'd prefer if you didn't attempt to prevent me from doing the things I like to do.
Regarding the utility of alcohol: people can live without alcohol and alcohol can create a lot of troubles.
It surely is cause of many deaths.
However, many other things are also not required to live; we don't only do the bare minimum to survive.
Also climbing mountains doesn't provide any real value: you can train yourself in other ways which are more efficient and safer, however it's a nice activity and I like doing it.
Same could be said for art and so on.

It seems like a liability to me.
Do you have any arguments against that or want to make some points to assist your argument?
