@CrimethInc I agree the profit motive can get out of hand but I don't know a more efficient way of determining the intrinsic value of a unit of work. That's not to say it doesn't exist. but that it's an important question to answer for change to happen...
How can we measure and communicate value better than the price a customer is willing to pay?

It can be a metric, it might even be a good one (often isn't though), but is it a metric that should be optimized?
