i aggregated a list of the 500 most defederated instances from publicly available block lists. i think it's a good base for instance admins to curate their own block list. #fediblock #data

@dunkelstern i did, and i purposefully left it out for now, since it's not machine readable, would bloat the dataset and (i struggle to find good words) it's information owned by the instances the data was gathered from.

@yetzt i just hope noone just pipes that list into their instance without looking further. There are instances on there that are probably fine for many people but have been blocked on specialty reasons (like "they don't block instance x which we consider unacceptable on y"). Keeping the reason field out of that list makes it more complicated. Perhaps a big disclaimer would be in order?

@robryk @yetzt that was exactly what i feared. Just presenting blocklists without context is not a good method to work together on something that probably has so many social reasons and implications. People will see a technical solution here for something that is social. And as we all know: social problems cannot be solved with technology.
