Love seeing people just go and randomly defederate instances for dumb reasons as if the final end result of this isn't obviously "everyone ends up on centralized mega instances that are too big to block" (because at least if I'm on mastodon.social it's pretty unlikely $avguser has me defederated).

@delroth this is the exact reason why my tiny instance isn't going to take the fediblock list. Happy stomp on Nazis the second they rear their head, but not happy defederating dozens of instances based on a one-word summary.

@m I look at it sometimes because there's fairly obvious offenders (Gab, etc.) but really as a single-instance user the only real reason to defederate is if someone abuses multi-accounts to block-avoid I guess...

@delroth @m Or if someone causes you DoS-style grief (yes, they could do so in a way that circumvents instance blocks, but that's harder technically).
