Ok, this sounds impossible, but remember that computers were a mistake and the internet of shit exists.

I was driving today (2023 Integra) using CarPlay. Apple navigation was lagging (whatever) but more troubling, the steering wheel was sticking. Cruising at 45, I had to constantly jerk it to adjust. Normally it turns smoothly and freely. Something was wrong.

After like 45 minutes of this I yanked the USB cable out, disconnected the iPhone and…the steering went back to normal. WTF.

I’m a programmer, I have lots of theories, but mostly I’m dumbfounded that such a thing can happen. Maybe I hallucinated it. I’d rather that than believe anything in the USB port can fuck with my steering wheel.

@Leehro Well, if you plugged in something that blasted appropriate frequency noise over the power lines it wouldn't be weird that it could interfere with ~anything in the car (for large enough amplitude of the noise). Alas, it's not what you plugged in, so I'd have similar response to that happening as a result of plugging in a standards-conformant USB device
