My beloved's mother used to make 'potato cakes' he's found it impossible to recreate. She had jewish friends and a polish second husband so I'm wondering if the recipe is from polish/polish jewish origin. maybe even latkes? I would love to be able to provide him with this meal, especially since his mother died around 20 years ago, so I can't get the recipe from her.
