It's depressing -- but not at all surprising -- how many people here appear to have absolutely no empathy whatsoever for anyone less technical than themselves.

There's a different variant of it, which I'm not sure whether you're including: lack of empathy towards people who are not curious about technical things.
@robryk Keep in mind, many people who have no interest in this stuff have been forced to deal with it because alternatives (phone support, etc.) have been decimated by cost-cutting firms. So many people use these systems to the minimum required to get through their lives, and they hate being forced to do this.
@robryk I'd consider that a subset.
