Right, I just remembered _why_ I keep having ewaste at home.

The only way to properly dispose of ewaste in this council is with a car. _Your_ car — because they use the license plate to identify who is depositing it.

@flameeyes Is it an unattended setup (otherwise I'm confused why identifying oneself to a chap operating it wouldn't also work)? Also, why do they care who's depositing it?

@robryk so technically they don't care *who* is depositing it.

But if the same car shows up twice in a year, it gets charged. So your options are a) combining a single trip with a friend from the same Borough, b) ask a favour to a friend from a different Borough, c) pay back a neighbour who might have already used/might need to use the services.

@flameeyes

Amusingly, the way my city rate limits e-waste collection is that they prohibit the use of cars to drop it off for free (you can come on foot, by bike, or by public transit).
