Today I found out that there's a 1:1000 3D model of #zurich you can go see for free in one of the city government buildings: https://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/hbd/de/index/ueber_das_departement/aktuell/ausstellungen/zuerich_heute.html
I knew about the other model of Zürich in the year 1800 (https://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/content/hbd/de/index/staedtebau/baz/stadtmodell_1800.html) but somehow never realized there's another one for the present state of the city!
#switzerland
@delroth Where do people who work on it (e.g. add buildings) stand while doing so, so that they don't damage the model?
@robryk the model is made of square chunks, and some of those chunks are on rails so they can be moved (presumably to create access corridors to the middle of the model)
@robryk https://goo.gl/maps/bpLHPnXbKrhrTMGBA someone on gmaps made a photosphere from the middle, you can kind of see the (badly stitched) rails on the ground
