Hm~ it's an interesting question how much willingness to go against fear gradients (regardless of the source of the fear) gets adjusted as opposed to a fear-specific knob being adjusted. (I would bet a lot on both getting adjusted, but the IMO interesting thing is by how much.)

@whitequark@mastodon.social @robryk@qoto.org as someone who does climbing, I can attest to that. I struggle a lot with the fear of falling. If I don't do fall training, it gets worse. However, if I don't do it gradually and immediatly start with 4m-falls in lead, it's counterproductive as well. And as you said, this varies from person to person.
