i don't use rustfmt because it alienates me from my labor
code formatting is one of the ways we use to communicate the intent of the code. it's one of the few things that the compiler doesn't really care about, but humans do. like comments, or local variable names.
so, forgive me if i do not want to cede this mode of expression to a pretty printer.
(no offense to pretty printers.)
