@nyrath The thing about human hibernation that gets me is that it ignores the gut microbiome—2-4Kg of bacteria and fungi, turning over every 24 hours! Including potentially invasive/pathogenic species, but your digestive system doesn't work properly without them. How do you hibernate the gut ecosystem so that it doesn't chow down on the body with the nice inactive immune system? Uplifted bears might spacefare better ...
