@saruzza thank you for sharing this talk. I was fascinated and informed. And hugely glad not to be subject to the ghastly and dangerous custom of crape wearing! I recall reading a victorian novel (I forget what) in which a character complains about the stress of sewing mourning crape garments (by hand) owing to eye strain and the stress induced by the urgency with which the family's order needed to be produced. To think it may have been chemically toxic too, adds a new layer of horror.
