I think all the authors were keenly aware of the class differences from different perspectives, and while they are decades apart in eras, they do nail (from what I know) the issues cleanly and with grace.

Happy Saturday! Time to inject a bit of colour back into proceedings. This is the beautiful Leadenhall Market in the City of London. It forms part of my favourite street photography route in London, from the City, over to Borough Market, and then along the South Bank to Westminster (not that I've done it for ages).

This is a square format colour image of a high vaulted Victorian market hall in the City of London. The scene looks from one of the entrances towards the centre of the hall, where there is a central dome. The high arched ceiling is glass, allowing light through to reflect on the cobbled pathway. The large ornate lamps hanging from the ceilings cast a warmer light which picks out the red and gold of the paintwork of the store fronts. A few people dressed in winter coats can be seen mooching around on the distance. Taken with a Sony RX100 at Leadenhall Market in the City of London.
