I am one month into my #postdoc this week and the transition is real..

I thought it would be easier adjusting to a new lab but I'm still figuring out how new systems work and how to find things in the lab like FACS tubes and PBS! It's also very humbling to recognize that I know essentially nothing about this new field and I'm learning all the basics again.

I'm loving my new position and project so far and I can't wait to get experiments going.

Hang in there new postdocs, you got this!

@rachelkratofil When you mentioned new field, did you imply the research area being vastly different than your previous one? or the difference in your experience is there mainly because of the new lab?

@shibaprasad I switched from an immunology focused lab to a microbial pathogenesis lab, so I’m mainly referring to new techniques I am learning such as bacterial cloning and genetics. This is all new to me, although I learned a little bit about it during my undergrad degree!
