Everyone said get a Brother printer so I bought a 3-in-1 scanner and printer. There seems to be something wrong with it though. I plugged it into a Linux laptop, opened a document, pressed print, selected the printer, and it printed. Then I opened simple-scan, pressed scan, and it scanned.

This isn't how printers and scanners are supposed to work. Where do install the drivers that don't work properly etc? This was no fun. I demand a refund.

@JoeRess Yeah, it sucks. For years now I just throw the CD that comes with printers in the trash. There's no adventure. Just plug it in or connect over WiFi, yup, there's my printer, click and print awesomely. It's totally boring. But the print quality is mind-boggling.

Driver? That words sounds familiar...

Whatever happened to soldering up DB-25 connectors for RS-232, tracing out DTR, RTS, etc., X-ON, X-OFF, and all that? Sheesh, there aren't even any cables to solder anymore.

Sigh.
