My #SilentSunday was a hike through Velling Forrest with a nice view from the hill called Velling Calf. A temperature of 20 degrees celcius and a wind speed of zero meters per second — absolutely perfect conditions. 😍

@randahl Yup, raven. I'm fortunate to have a pack of three that have lived in my neighborhood for years. I've never gotten closer than about 75 feet but they must know me. Whenever I see them I stop and observe, sometimes with binoculars. I try to call back and it seems like they sometimes respond. I have no doubt they have a conversational language.

@shuttersparks It really is an impressive bird. Quite intelligent too, and I love how its feathers shine, almost like it is oiled.

@randahl Yes, I remember the first time I saw them in a setting of familiar objects so I could get a sense of scale. They're big!

Mine here have a dull brownish black color. Not very shiny. The crows here are jet black and shiny.

@shuttersparks ours look exactly like these two — like they have oiled feathers.

@randahl Pretty, Mine look dull with a slightly brownish cast to the black. Maybe they're very old and "turning gray". hahaha. I've had the impression they're old.
