@taz I remember when WordPress was epic in 2006-2010. It was like a miracle. Now it's just layers upon layers of unnecessary code. Once it's all setup, customized, it runs slower than molten glass.
You know what would be awesome? A WordPress lite or something. I have given up on PHP though.
But hang in there, get it done, you can do it! Don't forget to take breaks, it's the weekend! 😁
@taz I know it is, I read this article that said the entire internet is over 70% WP based sites. I built a node.js / mongodb setup that runs UI/UX wise like a WP site with some common plugins. The WP site has been heavily optimized. So much that I hard coded the plugins into the core. My node site still runs about 6700% to7400% faster consistently. I should also note I used websockets instead of REST API on mine. But when I run the comparison for clients, I give them both options, and I clearly tell them that everything will take longer going with a Node or Rust based system, if they still don't want it, I show them the list of top 10,000 sites on the internet and challenge them to find a single WP powered one. If they still don't want it. I leave. I try to stay cutting edge with the tech I sell so I can get a decent profit margin. It's so hard though. But after a while, I got some great clients. I tell you what though. If you take a WP job and you charge the client by the hour, that's good money. Sometimes I wish I would have become a scuba instructor or something. 😂 22 years in this business, ugh.
@taz Hehe, I know what you mean about the muscle memory and remapping WP tables.
I haven't tried Neo4J, that good eh?
