re: the left vs libs
"the libs" to me are just the left who actually have power, are elite, have ambition, are rich etc. who had to jettison ideological loyalty and replace it with class loyalty to retain their positions, and are hated by the 'left' for actually playing the game. whereas the left prefers to LARP as an outsider with no influence so it can still pretend to be a rebel. I don't see a real foundational difference in the way of thinking though, its just one group has power and must be more restrictive in what they publicly say for political reasons, and the other group doesn't and so can freely take potshots at them.

I had somebody try to tell me the other day that George Soros was actually a right-winger because he was a 'liberal' and didn't want to destroy capitalism. you can tie yourself up into all kinds of pretzels with this fake distinction

@vriska its just from a friend enemy distinction standpoint, he is considered to be satan by right wingers for various reasons, and leftists like him for funding antifa, maybe they are embarrassed by his support but i don't think that matters
