There is no exchange rate, it's not about comfort. It's about keeping the system from collapsing, Europe simply can't stop buying fossil fuels from Russia. And the war wouldn't stop by doing this but there would be no place for refugees anymore. It's sad but this is the reality we allowed to become true.

Sure we can pay premium for US fracking gas for example... oh wait, they are war mongers too and we will not only weaken our influence even more but at the same time make rich people richer and poor people poorer. And if anyone thinks you can just push some on/off switches to change where massive amounts of resource come from, this person is way more the just naive. And looking at how the economy works, economists are one of the last people to trust anyway...
