>contacts a real estate agency about a flat I'm interested into that's been available for a few months
>give my name in said message
>no reply after a week
>decide to contact them by phone
>they ask for my name and how much I earn (more than 3 times the rent's amount)
>get an appointment for the very next day
>they contact me that very same day saying that all of a sudden that flat just got taken this morning
>the offer is still up on their website
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

@solidsanek is your name "fuck estate-agents"?

I've heard they don't like double-barrelled names

@skells There are many ways you can get refused a job, a flat, etc. considering just the info I've given. But I'll wait to see if they actually remove said offer before assuming things too quickly

@solidsanek in my experience estate agents are almost universally incompetent so I wouldn't take it personally

@skells I'm assuming the real estate agent just did their job tbh. I'm more curious about what the landlord might have said about it
@11112011 @skells If that's the reason, GOOD! I do not wish to live in the same building as a bird hater!
